MODUK - DEF STAN 68-114

Copper (II) Oxide, Type QX

inactive, Most Current
Organization: MODUK
Publication Date: 21 April 1995
Status: inactive
Page Count: 18
scope:

This Defence Standard specifies requirements for two classes of high quality copper (II) oxide, type QX, in the form of fine powders for use in propellants.

The designation 'Type QX' indicates that the material is suitable for certain applications where a high degree of compatibility with explosives is a requirement. However, its compatibility with all explosives in all environments has not been established. Design Authorities requiring advice on particular applications should in the first instance contact the Directorate of Standardization, Stan 5, Kentigern House, 65 Brown Street, Glasgow, G2 8EX for guidance.

Attention is drawn to Defence Standard 13-102, Testing of Materials which are Required to be Compatible with Explosives.
