These military unique parts are critical to the servicing of aircraft turbine engines. The adapter is an integral part of the engine and must withstand a 2000°F (1093.33°C) fire proof requirement. The qualification process ensures these adapters meet this fire proof and operational requirements. The adapter, nozzle, pressure cap and dust cap have to withstand temperature changes from -65°F to + 250°F (- 54 to +121°C). Commercial adapters, nozzles, and caps are not designed to withstand these extreme conditions or sudden environmental changes, and would experience catastrophic failure.
