scope:

This Japanese Industrial Standard specifies single pipes of welded steel pipe piles (hereafter referred to as "piles") used for the foundation of structures such as civil engineering works and architectures (including piles for landslide prevention). The dimensional range to which this Standard is applicable is 318.5 mm to 2 000 mm in outside diameter normally. The configuration and designation of each part of piles are as given in figure 1.

Further, items other than those specified in the text, the quality specification of single pipe with ribs which can be designated by the purchaser upon the agreement with the manufacturer is shown in Annex A, typical example of shapes and dimensions of accessories attached to single pipe are shown in Annex B, and typical examples of forming and painting/coating to be performed on single pipe are shown in Annex C.

NOTE: The steel pipes for landslide prevention and the centrifugally cast steel pipes are specified in JIS G 3444 and JIS G 5201, respectively.
