scope:
This standard is applicable to the determination and use of "partial characteristics for thermal energy" for all buildings and real properties supplied with thermal energy (e.g. for building heating, potable-water heating, other process heat applications). These partial characteristics can be derived and/or calculated from measured data.
The standard can be used to
- first calculate partial consumption characteristics from the thermal final-energy consumption as determined from measured data for a building or real property,
- evaluate and assess the partial consumption characteristics,
- identify, among the set of all partial consumption characteristics for the building or real property, those which are typical of the use in question and comparable to the reference characteristics of VDI 3807 Part 2 as well as those which are atypical,
- determine a characteristic value for a building or real property, corrected for special uses and atypical consumption fractions and comparable to the values of VDI 3807 Part 2.
Special uses and atypical consumption fractions vary with the type of use. In general, they are characterised by the following specific boundary conditions:
