VDI 2035 BLATT 3

Prevention of damage in water heating installations - Corrosion by fuel gases

active, Most Current
Organization: VDI
Publication Date: 1 July 2014
Status: active
Page Count: 19
ICS Code (Central heating systems): 91.140.10
scope:

This standard deals with the exhaust gas corrosion of metallic materials in directly heated waterheating installations in hot-water heating systems and in associated exhaust gas systems. Its aim is to minimize the likelihood of component failure occurring or impairment of functionality. Unlike VDI 2035 Part 1 and Part 2, this standard can also be applied where appropriate to heating systems with flow temperatures higher than 100 °C which are being operated as intended.

This standard will not be concerned with corrosion in the high temperature range (e.g. scaling). This is found only at high temperatures of more than approximately 250 °C and then normally in the combustion chamber of the heat generator. This type of corrosion tends to be of subordinate importance in the exhaust gas system.
