In this standard the calibration of contact stylus instruments is described (corresponding to VDI/ VDE 2602 Part 2). Methods are presented for calculating measurement uncertainty when calibrating instruments and when measuring measurement standards and workpieces.
Calibration and measurement uncertainty are necessary conditions of determining measurement process suitability.
