Material Description. This specification details the requirements of a methylene chloride-free, polyurethane based, solvent release type primer. It is intended to promote adhesion of urethane adhesive sealing compounds to automotive topcoats and various substrates.

Applicability. These primers are capable of being applied by brush, felt or sprayed, manually or with automation, and provide good wettability to the application substrates. Although not restricted to, these primers are typically used for bonding fixed automotive glass encapsulated with exterior grade PVC to painted metal vehicle openings. The primer is applied directly to the PVC substrate.
