scope:

This standard applies to factory-assembled commercial or industrial DX-DOAS Units as defined in Section 3.

Energy Source.

This standard only applies to electrically operated, vapor-compression refrigeration systems.

Installation.

DX-DOAS Units are intended for ducted or non-ducted installation with field or factory supplied grilles.

Exclusions.

This standard shall not apply to Sensible-only 100% Outdoor Air Units. Direct conversion of values from testing performed under AHRI Standard 921 (SI) shall not be used.

Purpose.

The purpose of this standard is to establish for Direct Expansion-Dedicated Outdoor Air System (DX-DOAS) Units: definitions; classifications; test requirements; rating requirements; minimum data requirements for Published Ratings; operating requirements; marking and nameplate data; and conformance conditions.

Intent.

This standard is intended for the guidance of the industry, including manufacturers, engineers, installers, contractors and users.

Review and Amendment.

This standard is subject to review and amendment as technology advances.
