This Standard specifies the requirements for the chains to be used for bicycles for general use, bicycles for young children and electric power assisted bicycles mainly specified in JIS D 9111 (hereafter referred to as chains).
NOTE The International Standard corresponding to this Standard and the symbol of degree of correspondence are as follows.
ISO 9633 : 2001 Cycle chains - Characteristics and test methods (MOD)
In addition, symbols which denote the degree of correspondence in the contents between the relevant International Standard and JIS are IDT (identical), MOD (modified), and NEQ (not equivalent) according to ISO/IEC Guide 21-1.
