This standard is derived from the international standard IEC Publication 840 "Tests for power cables with extruded insulation for rated voltages above 30 kV up to 150 kV". On the basis of Dutch practice this international standard has been adapted. From this perspective the standard deals exclusively with cables with insulation of cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) for voltages of 30 kV upto and including 150 kV.
