Material Description. Basecoat components of these systems are solvent borne technologies. Clearcoat components of these systems are two component solvent borne.

Typical Applications. This specification covers the qualification and performance for low gloss flexible, exterior, solvent borne, onecomponent basecoat/two-component solvent borne etch resistant clearcoat topcoat system for use over plastic substrate.

Each combination of specific basecoat and clearcoat must be tested and approved as a basecoat/clearcoat system. The individual components are not interchangeable. In addition, the topcoat system is part of the total system and must meet qualifications set forth in this specification and those shown on engineering drawings. It must also be compatible with specific plastics.
