scope:
This Standard specifies a method of verification of testing machines for determining Vickers hardness in accordance with JIS Z 2244. The verification may be used for periodic routine checking of the testing machine.
Although the International Standard limits the scope of application to the diagonal line length range 20 μm to 1.4 mm, this Standard does not specify the lower limit of the diagonal length.

The symbols which denote the degree of correspondence in the contents in the corresponding International Standard and JIS are IDT (identical), MOD (modified) and NEQ (not equivalent) according to ISO/IEC Guide 21-1.
