The primary user of this guidance is the Asset Steward. This guidance should be used when preparing maintenance regimes for correct side door enable systems.

Note: This guidance does not include the maintenance of the Platform Automatic Train Operation (ATO) Communications system (PAC).

Purpose

This document provides guidance on the minimum requirements for the maintenance of the fixed part of the track/train datalink sub system which forms part of the standalone correct side door enable system.

Note: The purpose of the correct side door enable system is to restrict the opening of train doors where it is unsafe to do so.

Note: This document provides guidance to the requirements of standard S1199 'Signalling and Signalling Control - Operation and Maintenance' in relation to the maintenance of assets (such as correct side door enable). Work Instructions cover the detail of exactly what is to be undertaken during its maintenance.
