Organization: LUL
Publication Date: 1 November 2020
Status: active
Page Count: 7
scope:

This guidance applies to all Wayside kiosks and boxes with the exceptions defined in the notes below. This guidance should be used by Asset Stewards when devising maintenance regimes for Wayside kiosks and boxes.

Note: This guidance includes track disconnection boxes, combined termination boxes, 10-core boxes, cable termination cases, relay cases, AC main link boxes, Wayside kiosks, electric point heater kiosks, transformer cases, condenser cases, and other similar installations. Although not strictly describable as "Wayside", it also applies to relay room roller shutter kiosks.

Note: This guidance does not include maintenance of equipment housed within kiosks and boxes - for this, reference should be made to the appropriate engineering standards such as G199N Maintenance of Track Circuits.

Purpose

This guidance document provides guidance on the minimum maintenance requirements for Wayside kiosks and boxes containing equipment and cable terminations associated with signalling and signal control systems on London Underground (LU).

Note: This guidance supplements S1199 'Signalling and Signalling Control - Operation and Maintenance'.
