Purpose.
References (a) and (b) prescribed policy and responsibility for the Maurice Ewing Award for Oceanography and Walter Munk Award for Distinguished Research in Oceanography Related to Sound and the Sea. These policies and responsibilities have been delegated internally to the Office of Naval Research (ONR) and as a result they are no longer required to be Secretary of the Navy instructions.
