This guidance applies to all signals, signs and indicators as used on the LU. It should be used by Asset Stewards when designing maintenance regimes for the signals, signs and indicators.

Note: This guidance does not cover workshop overhaul, the maintenance requirements for disc signals with moving parts, and passenger information video display units. Dot matrix indicators are the subject of engineering guidance G0199E 'Maintenance of Signalling Control Rooms and Dot Matrix Indicators'.

Purpose

The purpose of this document is to provide guidance on the minimum maintenance requirements for the signals, signs and indicators which control or are controlled by train movements used on London Underground (LU).
