This guidance document applies to:

a) all non vital signalling control equipment and associated wiring provided for the control of train movements (from the point of entry into the room to the point of exit) and

b) Dot Matrix Indicators (DMIs).

The primary users of this guidance are the Asset Stewards and it applies to all signalling control rooms, associated computer rooms and Dot Matrix Indicators.

Note: This document does not cover maintenance of software or any communications equipment such as signal, tunnel telephones and radio equipment that may be present within the signalling control room.

Maintenance of a power supplies within a Signalling Control Room is covered by standard G0199W 'Maintenance of Signalling Power Supplies'.

Workshop overhaul is not covered by this guidance.

Purpose

This document provides guidance on the minimum maintenance requirements, as described in S1199 'Signalling and Signalling Control - Operation and Maintenance', for signalling control rooms, associated computer rooms and Dot Matrix Indicators currently used on London Underground (LU).
