The primary user of this guidance is the Asset Steward and should be used when devising maintenance regimes for cable runs.

Note: This guidance applies to all cable bracket runs provided for the support of signalling, communications or low voltage power cables (including Fibre Optic cables), whether mounted on posts, walls, tunnel segments, cable bridges or other structures and includes inverts.

Note: This guidance also applies to troughing runs, to cable strap supports ('ballata' straps) on bridges and other structures, to access stiles and proprietary commercially available off the shelf Cable Management Systems.

Note: Maintenance of the air main (refer to G199V), workshop overhaul and factory preparation of moulded cables (for points, trainstop and track crossing purposes) are not covered by this guidance.

Note: This guidance supplements S1199 'Signalling and Signalling Control - Operation and Maintenance'
