active, Most Current
Organization: LUL
Publication Date: 1 August 2021
Status: active
Page Count: 17
scope:

For electricity or compressed air supplies, this standard applies to:

a) all LU properties and areas leased to third parties that are supplied from the Distribution Network Operator (DNO) or via the LU Power System

b) all staff, including staff contracted to LU, requiring new or modified power or compressed air loads or circuits

c) the following supplies provided from the LU Power System, a comprehensive list of which is given in LU standard S1105

I) 630V and 750V d.c. supplies

II) 400V a.c. three-phase and neutral and 230V a.c. single-phase supplies

III) 440V and 600V a.c. supplies for signalling (including non-50Hz supplies)

IV) low voltage d.c. supplies

V) Local Emergency Power Supply (LEPS) systems specified in S1105

VI) Central Emergency Power Supply (CEPS) systems specified in S1105

VII) Compressed air supplies specified in S1105.

d) The removal or addition of UPS systems utilising power from the LU and DNO LVAC supplies will be assessed assuming a fully loaded UPS and any changes to the actual load of a UPS should be directed to the E&M Team at UPSLoadApplications@tfl.gov.uk who will process the load application as a separate process but using the principles of this standard (see Load Application form section 5.2.1)

e) the removal or addition of loads or equipment to the 400V a.c. three-phase and neutral and 230V a.c. single-phase supplies for the shared LU/Elizabeth Line sites

f) the removal or addition of embedded generation e.g. solar PV, Vehicle to Grid.

Note: Loads connected directly to the HV supply are excluded from the scope of this standard. However, these loads still require approval from Power Engineering prior to connection.

Purpose

The purpose of this standard is to define the requirements and process to be followed for the connection or disconnection of electrical loads, embedded generation, compressed air, gas and water supplies.
