scope:
This specification establishes requirements for the design, manufacture, and testing of forced-air-cooled integrated avionics racks, herein after referred to as racks. The racks will be designed to accommodate Standard Electronic Modules (SEM) using multiple tiers. The individual tiers, which must accommodate standard primary backplanes, will be interconnected with a flexible secondary backplane. The enclosure, which provides cooling for the enclosed devices, protection from the environment, and shielding from electromagnetic interference, is to be used for various military avionic systems.
