The requirements of this specification apply to all track welding activities (except flash welding) being carried out on Railtrack's permanent way. For flash welding requirements see Railtrack Line specification RT/CE/S/001 Joining of rails by flash welding.
PURPOSE
This specification defines the standards for the carrying out of track welding. It details the processes that are to be used when carrying out alumino-thermic welding of rail joints, maintenance and repair welding of plain rails and crossings, alumino-thermic welding and electric pin-brazing of bond attachments.
