Scope and Applicability.

These special recognition awards will be bestowed annually to individuals and teams who epitomize logistics and sustainment professionalism and excellence. Nominees may be involved in any phase of Navy logistics and sustainment, from early life-cycle planning to in-service logistics and sustainment support. Contributions must have occurred in the calendar year for which the award is to be given. All nominations must be submitted through each command's echelon 2 or joint commander, using OPNAV 5305/8, Admiral Stan Arthur Awards for Logistics and Sustainment Excellence Nomination.

Purpose.

a. To issue policy and procedures for the Admiral Stan Arthur Awards for Logistics and Sustainment Excellence.

b. Major changes to this instruction include clarifying command submission requirements, administrative corrections and the renaming of this instruction. This instruction is a complete revision and should be reviewed in its entirety.
