FOTP-85 Fiber Optic Cable Twist Test
|Publication Date:||26 May 1992|
Intent.1 The intent of this test is to establish the ability of a fiber optic cable (or fiber optic cable component, when appropriate) to mechanically withstand twisting.
Measurements. The following parameters may be measured or observed:
(a) The number of broken fibers caused by twisting.
(b) Any change in the outer covering.
(c) The change in optical measurement results caused by twisting.
