scope:
This standard outlines shipboard construction and equipment installation requirements and the practices necessary to minimize the electromagnetic interference (EMI) environment aboard Naval Ships, These requirements shall be adhered to in order to alleviate the interference problems which are currently hampering the electronic communication, radar, and sonar capabilities of the fleet and to achieve simultaneous operation of the ship electronic complex with a minimum of malfunctions or undesired responses.
