This Subsection establishes the requirements for preservice and inservice testing to assess the operational readiness of certain centrifugal and positive displacement pumps used in nuclear power plants. The pumps covered are those, provided with an emergency power source, that are required in shutting down a reactor to the cold shutdown condition, maintaining the cold shutdown condition, or mitigating the consequences of an accident.
The Subsection establishes test intervals, parameters to be measured and evaluated, acceptance criteria, corrective actions, and records requirements.
