This specification covers fresh water mechanical flowmeters (cold and hot water service) of the positive displacement type.
Flowmeters shall be of the following classes, as specified (see 6.2.1):
Class A - Volumetric flow measurement of cold fresh water up to 100 degrees Fahrenheit (°F). Class B - Volumetric flow measurement of hot fresh water from 100 to 180°F.
intended Use:
The flowmeters covered by this specification are intended for operation in freshwater systems at temperatures up to 180°F and for flow rates up to 1000 gallons per minute.
