Precautions against fires and explosions shall be taken into consideration in the early design stage of installations.
Deviating from the precautions listed in this guideline is permissible provided that practically minded investigations demonstrate that the same level of protection is ensured in a different manner.
Practical case studies relating to this guideline will be given in the subsequent part VDI 2263 Part 6.1.
