scope:
The series of guidelines VDI 3810 provides recommendations, for the various building services, regarding
- safe, specified normal,
- demand-based and
- sustainable
operation of BS installations.
The guidelines describe the prerequisites to
- exercising the operator's duties,
- safe and reliable operation of BS installations,
- economic efficiency
- environmental compatibility.
Furthermore, they contain additional practical recommendations for operating and maintaining BS installations.
The following aspects are taken into account:
- general requirements in terms of performance and quality
- safety
- occupational health and safety
- environmental protection
- hygiene requirements
- legal duty to maintain safety
- organisational arrangements
- economic efficiency
It is mandatory that those responsible maintain BS installations in a proper condition with regard to the aforementioned aspects.
The owners and operators of installations are obliged to operate the BS installations as specified, in accordance with the acknowledged rules of technology and, in specific cases (see Section 5.1) in accordance with the state of the art.
