Organization: DIN
Publication Date: 1 January 2011
Status: inactive
Page Count: 17
ICS Code (Plastics fittings): 23.040.45
ICS Code (Plastics pipes): 23.040.20
scope:

This standard applies to thermoplastics pipes with profiled walls and smooth inner surfaces made from polyethylene (PE 63, PE 80, PE 100 and PE-HD), unplasticized polyvinyl chloride (PVC-U), polypropylene (PP), homopolymers and copolymers, and to fittings made from these pipes.

For the purposes of this standard, profiled pipes are those with profiled outer surfaces, flanged pipes, helically wound pipes with smooth or profiled outer surfaces, and pipes with foamed inserts in their walls.

NOTE 1 Fittings manufactured differently may also be used in pipework provided the requirements for compatibility and quality are complied with.

NOTE 2 Pipes manufactured in accordance with this standard may also be used as components in process engineering.

It shall be noted that for particular applications existing European product standards are to be complied with. Some of these European product standards have been included in the bibliography for information. Since European Standards are subject to continuous revision, the list is not exhaustive.
