The documents contained within the SSI Applications Manual are
mandatory (unless in contravention of Network Rail Company
Standards) and shall be complied with by all suppliers/contractor
When signalling applications are not covered in the SSI Applications Manual and until they are covered, the supplier of SSI equipment shall provide adequate supplementary documentation of an equivalent standard for the scheme owner's future use.
This document records the issue status and authorisation for each document within the SSI Applications Manual and will be reissued whenever any constituent document is amended.
Suggestions for future changes should be forwarded to the Professional Head (S&T).
Purpose
This standard mandates the use of the SSI Applications Manual for the design of signalling schemes employing Solid State Interlocking (SSI) equipment on Network Rail infrastructure and lists all documents contained therein to provide a record of which constituent documents are current and approved for use.
The SSI Applications Manual records recommended or mandatory practice in respect of the application of SSI to Network Rail signalling. It provides detailed instructions or guidance to support Railway Group Standards, but in the event of a conflict, the Railway Group Standards shall take precedence.
