This Standard specifies the hot-rolled steel plates and the hot-rolled atmospheric corrosion resisting 1) steel plates (hereafter referred to as "steel plates") having high yield point or proof stress to be mainly used for bridges, that are imparted with characteristically excellent weldability.

Note 1) The term "atmospheric corrosion resistance" means the characteristics impervious to corrosion when exposed to the atmosphere in the natural environment.
