This specification covers the requirements for nonmagnetic, corrosion-resistant steel wire rope used in aircraft flight controls. The wire rope should be capable of operation within a −54°C to +121°C (−65°F to +250°F) temperature range in wind, dust, fuel and oil spills, in aircraft wash-down and other environmental stresses and aircraft experiences.
