This specification covers the requirements for nonmagnetic, corrosion-resistant steel wire rope used in aircraft flight controls. The wire rope should be capable of operation within a −54 °C to +121 °C (−65 °F to +250 °F) temperature range in wind, dust, fuel and oil spills, in aircraft wash-down and other environmental stresses and aircraft experiences.
